Shaitan-Merdven Pass (Devil's Staircase) is one of the ancient mountain passes across Crimean mountains. From Kharaks Fortress across Shaitan-Merdven was built military ("Via Militares") road by ancient Greeks.
Many outstanding people passed Shaitan-Merdven. They are Pallas and Dyubua de Monpere, General N.Raevsky, A.Pushlin, A. Griboyedov, I.Bunin, A,Tolstoi and others.
This tour goes from Yalta to the George Monastery along the highway Yalta-Sevastopol, across Shaitan-Merdven Pass and Baidarska valley.
